Riaan Naude

Unless you’re God, everyone has room to grow – the value of a coach or mentor then becomes undeniable. We all tend to second guess our own decisions at some point irrespective of how established or green a property investor we perceive ourselves to be. This is exactly why having the right coach or mentor is so important. A coach or mentor helps you to gain clarity because you’re often too close to a situation to see it clearly. Stated another way, it’s pretty hard to see your nose, isn’t it? It is literally too close to your eyes, and you just can’t see it very well. Having another person sharing his or her insights about your situation gives you an outside perspective on how to improve, what to change and to avoid the pitfalls that’s literally right in front of your feet. If you are motivated to make improvements, you’ll place a lot of value on your coach’s perspective. It doesn’t matter whether you decide that a coach or a mentor is better for you, but I recommend you get one. Even after 18 years performing the role myself, I follow my own advice. I have a coach/mentor to whom I remain accountable for my personal & professional development. Investing in yourself always brings positive results.

Carl Coetzee

The way I see it, I’m not in the business of home loans or insurance; I’m in the business of better. There’s no over-promise in the word – it’s sincere, and it’s a daily commitment to just do better. In fact, it’s everything the BetterLife Group stands for. While my path has been largely in insurance, the past six years in the Group have helped me understand our entire ecosystem. But there are always new learnings, and I am always eager to learn more. Leadership aside, it’s our internal culture that’s our greatest achievement. ‘Better’ changed the way we do things. With my incredible team, I intend to make BetterBond a household name. Because we recognise that people really need what we offer them. And we understand what the customer of the future will need.
